If the display shows Insert USB Memory during a firmware update, ensure that a compatible USB memory device is properly inserted into the piano's USB port. The USB drive should be formatted as FAT32 — exFAT and NTFS are not supported.
Download the correct firmware file for your specific piano model from the Kawai software updates page and place the file in the root directory of the USB drive (not in a subfolder). Insert the drive and restart the update process.
If the message persists, try a different USB memory device from a reputable manufacturer with a capacity of 32GB or under.
