Why can I hear the keyboard action mechanism when playing my Kawai digital piano?

Hearing some mechanical sound from the keyboard action is normal on Kawai digital and hybrid pianos, especially those equipped with wooden keys and escapement mechanisms. This is by design — the action sounds you hear are an accurate simulation of the physical response of an acoustic piano action.
If the sound is unusually loud, inconsistent, or accompanies a note that is not sounding correctly, check that nothing is obstructing the key mechanism. If a specific key sounds or feels different from the others, contact your Kawai dealer.
