What USB memory device should I buy for use with my Kawai piano?

Choose a reputable brand, 32GB or under, USB 2.0, formatted as FAT32. Avoid high-capacity, encrypted, or wireless-capable drives.

When selecting a USB memory device for your Kawai piano, Kawai recommends the following guidelines:

Brand: Choose a device from a reputable manufacturer such as SanDisk, Samsung, Kingston, Sony, or Transcend. Avoid unbranded devices.

Capacity: Select a device with a capacity of 32GB or under — this is sufficient for all audio recording and file storage needs. Avoid very large capacity devices (256GB or higher).

Interface: Choose a device that uses the USB 2.0 standard. USB 3.x devices are theoretically backwards-compatible but USB 2.0 native is preferred.

Filesystem: Most USB drives come pre-formatted as FAT32, which is fully supported. The exFAT filesystem is not supported. Avoid drives with special security or fingerprint lock features.

If saved files are no longer needed, delete them using a file manager rather than reformatting the drive.
