Recordings via USB audio on my Kawai piano are too quiet — what should I do?
Increase the piano's master volume, raise the input gain in your recording software, and ensure no limiting is applied.
If USB audio recordings are too quiet, first increase the main volume output on your piano before recording — this raises the level sent over USB.
In your recording software (DAW), increase the input gain or level for the USB audio input. Ensure that no audio normalisation, limiting, or volume reduction is applied in the software that might be attenuating the signal.
If the signal is still too low, consider connecting via Line Out to an external audio interface instead, which offers more control over input gain and typically provides better recording levels and quality.
