How do I connect my Kawai piano to a computer?
Use a USB cable for MIDI and optionally audio. For audio recording, Line Out cables or USB audio offer the best quality.
You can connect your Kawai piano to a computer in several ways. For MIDI communication (controlling software instruments, recording MIDI data), use a USB cable from the piano's USB to Host port to a USB port on your computer.
For recording the piano's audio, connect the Line Out outputs to your computer's audio interface using the appropriate cables (typically 1/4" to 1/4" or 1/4" to XLR). Some Kawai models also support USB audio, allowing audio to be transmitted directly over the USB cable.
For the highest recording quality, Line Out via a dedicated audio interface is recommended over USB audio alone.
